FAQ

Do these mods support multiplayer?

Classic+ and Indev+ do, though keep in mind that Indev+ is severely limited and lacking the portals system and world hopping, so you will be stuck to a single world. Classic+ also only supports creative mode multiplayer.

When is multiplayer coming to Infdev+?

When it’s ready. Currently, there is only one dev actively working on the mod, and they are in the middle of a complete code cleanup and refactor + work a full-time job. Current plan is to have a “good enough” version out by the end of the year.

How do I install these mods?

Refer to the install guides found in the downloads section for each mod. We recommend using MultiMC or forks like Prism.

What is the difference between these mods?

Classic+ is an improved version of Classic, focusing on creative building and comes with an arcade-style survival mode with powerups and a wave system. Indev+ has finite worlds that you can hop-between via use of portals, with some worlds having unique loot. Infdev+ is a complete re-imagining of modern Minecraft in the lead developer’s vision and has a ton of new content, including (but not limited to) 60+ biomes, 3 dimensions, many bosses and dungeons with unique and powerful loot and a final boss.

Where can I find more information about these mods (crafting recipes, guides etc.)?

We plan to create a proper wiki for these mods eventually, but are currently focused on developing the actual mods. You can find an official guide in the form of an online document for Indev+ here, with one for Infdev+ coming eventually.

What versions are these mods based on?

Classic+ is based on c0.30, Indev+ on in-20100223, Infdev+ on inf-20100630-1, Alpha Recrafted on a1.1.2_01 and Beta Recrafted on b1.7.3.

What is the Recrafted duology?

Alpha Recrafted and Beta Recrafted are a duology of mods that aim to polish their respective versions, without straying too far away from the originals. In other words, they are much “tamer” than the original Legacy+ trilogy, and offer a more vanilla experience.

What is Order of the Stone?

Order of the Stone is a small mod made by Yoniko back in 2023 as a week-long coding challenge. It is based on Indev 0.31, more specifically version in-20100125, and it adds things such as crafting, accessory items, hostile mobs and the scrapped score and stats system from Indev+. It is the black sheep of the Legacy+ family, and serves as an “Expanded & Enhanced” version of Indev 0.31.

Can I transfer a vanilla world to these mods?

For the Recrafted duology, you can, provided the world was made in the base version or earlier. For the original trilogy, you cannot, due to world format differences. You cannot do the opposite and bring a world from the modded versions back to vanilla, with very few exceptions, such as older versions of Alpha and Beta Recrafted.

Is it possible to play these mods using the official or Betacraft launcher?

Not for all. Infdev+ in particular will not work with Betacraft due to ditching applet support, which Betacraft heavily relies on. Indev+, Classic+ and probably the Recrafted duology, might all work, but it is not recommended, as you might experience issues with sounds and crashes.

Is it possible to play these mods on mobile using Pojav or similar Java launchers?

This has not been thoroughly tested by the team, nor do we support mobile or develop with mobile users in mind, so try it at your own risk. From reports we have heard that Indev+ should work well, but you might have issues with Classic+ and Infdev+, especially since the latter is quite demanding.

Why is Classic+ performing so poorly on my machine, and is there a way to fix it?

This is a known issue that also plagues vanilla Classic, but it is amplified in Classic+ due to spaghetti code and pushing the Classic engine to its limits. The primary cause of this seems to be if you use an iGPU to render the game. An iGPU is an integrated graphics chip that your processor has, typically found in laptops. If you use a laptop/notebook, that is why. If you know for certain your machine has a dedicated graphics card, make sure you use that to launch Classic+. We recommend googling how to do this, as the process varies based on your graphics card.

Why does Infdev+ keep crashing for me?

Infdev+ can be quite demanding, and likely has a memory leak that the team is actively investigating. For now, we recommend allocating at least 3-4 gigabytes of RAM, which should ensure a smooth experience. To allocate more RAM, use the following JVM argument in your launcher/instance: -Xmx4G, where you replace the number with however many gigabytes you wish to allocate.

Why don’t I hear any sounds?

Old Minecraft, and by extension these mods, download all sounds from an external repository. The Legacy+ trilogy downloads these sounds from a custom repository, so make sure you are NOT using any sound proxies such as the Betacraft one, as that will interfere with this process. Do also note it may take some time for all sounds to download, so you need to wait on the title screen for a bit (Infdev+ actively shows which sounds are being downloaded). If you still cannot hear sounds, it means your IPS is blocking the sounds repo. You can always try to get the sounds from the repo directly, and just put them in the “resources” folder of your instance.
Please note that the Recrafted duology do NOT rely on this repo, so you should use the Betacraft proxy for those instead.

Where can I report bugs or post suggestions?

You can do this on the Infdev+ repository, but please note that it is for Infdev+ ONLY. Any bug reports or suggestions posted here for the other mods will be automatically deleted.

Where can I find development updates?

Big updates and announcements will be shared on the blog part of this website. For information/pings about smaller updates (bug fixes and whatnot), you can join the Discord server.
